Growing up attending a Milwaukee public school, I always envisioned becoming a lawyer.
I wanted to speak for people who needed assistance and work toward a better community.
My parents always encouraged me to make something of myself.
I delivered Milwaukee Journal newspapers to pay for half of my tuition at Pius XI High School, where I graduated in 1982. I then attended Marquette University with the help of scholarships and student loans, and earned a bachelor’s degree in history and political science in 1986. Again through scholarships and student loans, I attended Marquette University Law School and earned my law degree in 1989.
Since 1989, I have been practicing law at the same law firm, concentrating on personal injury and bankruptcy but also handling some divorce, real estate, probate, wills, and traffic citations. I am a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Bar Association.
My grandparents were immigrants from Germany. My grandfather worked almost 40 years in Milwaukee's breweries and retired from Schlitz in 1966. I hail from modest roots and remain true to those roots while doing the very best I can for clients. My clients have returned to me during the last 25+ years over and over again and call me Rick. I have been married since 2002 and have two daughters and a son.
